Starting November 15th until December 24th, we will be in the Nativity fast. Fast days and periods have been established by the Church throughout the year to help us direct our hearts and minds towards the life of prayer and worship, spiritual needs, and the condition of our souls and relationship with God.
Theo Nicolakis writes “The reason for fasting, then, is precisely this: Fasting is a way of emptying ourselves from the cares and concerns of this world—A means of preparation and conditioning, which will enable us serve God and grow closer to Him.”
